Have you noticed...

that the world is marching on towards the ultimate conclusion of it's history. Time is short. The UN is looking to become more integrated and some famous politicians are trying to bring about One World Government. People are getting excited because the US President is a "man of peace". He will do his best to compromise in order to help countries to come together and make war and strife a thing of the past. Whatever his motives, and I don't know whether they be good or bad, one thing is absolutely clear - he will fail! For a period of time he might look like he is succeeding, and people will become very hopeful. But the bible tells us that wars will increase, strife will multiply, and money will fail. The future is not totally bleak however. Jesus is coming. And he will eventually preside over a thousand years of peace. We need to prepare ourselves. The Bible tells us to pray for the peace of Jerusalem. When we do, we know that we are praying for the return of Jesus Christ. Because He IS the Peace!

Our Manual For Life

The Word of God, the Bible, is our manual for life. It is always advisable to read the manual. If you do then you will know what to do when things don't seem to be going the way you feel that they should. The answer to every problem, and also to every possibility is found in the Word of God.

The scriptures are called the Word of life:

"Holding forth the word of life; that I may rejoice in the day of Christ, that I have not run in vain, neither laboured in vain." (Philippians 2:16)

Paul tells us that it is through preaching that people hear about God and make their decision about Him. He even tells us that in the natural preaching is foolishness. "For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe." (1 Corinthians 1:26)

However, in the spiritual sense, preaching is a very high calling. The world may think of it as foolishness, but it is one of very few methods used where people can hear about the things of God and respond. For this reason it is imperative that a preacher remembers what his solemn duty is: He must uplift Christ. Paul said that he was very careful to preach only Christ and His death at the cross. C.H.Spurgeon reminded his students: "Preach nothing up but Christ: preach nothing down but the devil."

When people surrender to the claims of the Word of God there is real joy in heaven. Why? Because the salvation of a human being is God's highest priority. He wants to enter into covenant with people, and He can only do so when a person is born again into His family. The new life in a believer proves that Jesus did not come in vain.

FAITH We believe God. We believe what He says..........

RIGHTEOUSNESS We are declared righteous by the Father. And then He gives us the power of the Holy Spirit to do righteous deeds...........

HOLINESS We have become like the Lord having been fathered by Him at new birth...........

SACRIFICE We live out our lives a living sacrifices; we die to our selfish and carnal desires...........

We are not special because we try to "outdo" others. We are special because we "look" to the things of others. We are motivated by the Lord God the Holy Spirit and through His Word.
